About Augusta, MI - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Augusta, Michigan is a small village found in Kalamazoo County. As of 2010, the population was 885 residents, and most of the community is found within Ross Township. Augusta is located about five miles northeast of Galesburg and seven miles west of Battle Creek, and it is conveniently situated on state highway M-96. The community is served by Galesburg-Augusta Community Schools, which consists of a middle school in Augusta and primary and high schools located in nearby Galesburg.

There are several interesting things to see and do in Augusta. The Fort Custer Recreation Area features walking trails and a peaceful campground, while the W.K. Kellogg Bird Sanctuary provides opportunities to view local wildlife. The Barn Theatre originally opened in 1946, and since then it has hosted a variety of theatrical performances each summer. Golf is also popular in the community at Gull Lake View Golf Club and the Yarrow Golf and Conference Resort.

Differing weather patterns is one reason that life in Augusta is so unique. With the changing of the season comes varied conditions outdoors. The summer is arguably the most popular for outdoor activities, as it is characterized by warm to hot temperatures and high humidity. July is the hottest month of the year, and average daily highs top out at around 82 degrees Fahrenheit. While these temperatures are milder than other parts of the U.S., for optimal comfort at home, Augusta residents typically invest in an energy efficient central air conditioner.

Central air conditioning is only needed for a couple of months, but heating systems in Augusta will get plenty of use. Winters here are long, cold, and snowy. Temperatures often drop below freezing overnight, and daytime highs average in the 30s. Considerable snowfall is also common, so residents will need a dependable gas or electric furnace in order to maintain warm temperatures indoors.
