About Dowling, MI - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Dowling, Michigan is a census-designated place located in Barry County. It is found in Baltimore Township, and as of 2010, only about 375 people lived here. Previously referred to as “Baltimore”, the current moniker for Dowling was awarded in March 1880. The community is located along M-37, and it is 9 miles from Hastings and 16 miles to downtown Battle Creek.

The tiny community of Dowling isn’t home to any major attractions, but there are a few businesses located here. Clay’s Pub & Grill offers casual food, and outdoor recreation can be enjoyed at the many lakes in the area, including Clear Lake and Bristol Lake.  Larger attractions are available a short distance away in Battle Creek, and families may like to check out Fantasy Forest, Full Blast, and the Binder Park Zoo.

To stay safe and comfortable in Dowling, it is important that residents prepare for anything in terms of the weather. Like much of the Midwest, winters here are cold and snowy. Temperatures can fall dramatically in December and January, and there are many days when highs fail to even reach the freezing point. When coupled with ample precipitation, icing both outdoors and on expensive home, pipes can pose a real problem. Fortunately, the right gas or electric furnace can ensure that indoor conditions stay warm throughout the season.

Weather conditions in Dowling aren’t always snowy and cold. Temperatures warm up during the spring, and the season leads into a very warm and humid summer. With high temperatures averaging in the low-80s, these conditions might sound comfortable, but the air tends to be quite muggy. Residents should invest in a central air conditioner to stay comfortable throughout the season, and the right unit will also remove excess moisture from indoor circulating air. An Energy Star system can also help homeowners to save on their monthly cooling costs.
