About Tekonsha, MI - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

The Village of Tekonsha is home to about 720 people, and it is located in Michigan’s Calhoun County. At only 25 miles southeast of Battle Creek, this village is considered part of the Battle Creek Metro Statistical Area. One of Tekonsha’s greatest claims to fame is that it is the birthplace of Talbert Abrams – the “Father of Aerial Photography.”

While Tekonsha isn’t a major tourist attraction in the region, there are still some interesting places to visit when in the area. This includes shopping destinations like Newt’s Market, Bailey’s Antiques, and Irish Indulgence Gourmet Gifts. Restaurants include the Tekonsha Café, Waid’s Pizzeria, and Country Pride Restaurant. The Burlington Roadside Park is also a great place to spend some time outdoors during a warm summer day.

Residing in Tekonsha requires that locals plan ahead for potentially dangerous weather conditions. Severe storms are possible during the late spring and summer months, and the potential for tornadic activity exists. During the summer, temperatures rise up into the upper-70s and low-80s, and when combined with high humidity levels, it can feel even warmer.  It is important that residents have a place to cool off at home throughout the season, and many residents opt for central air conditioning rather than window units. Central A/C units offer widespread cooling for an entire space rather than simply cooling one room, and variable speed blowers can also prevent unnecessary cooling and wasted energy.

Winters in the Midwest are cold, and frigid wintertime temperatures in Tekonsha are almost a guarantee. January is the coldest month of the year, and daytime highs only reach about 33 degrees. Low temperatures can plummet well below the freezing point overnight, which can put homeowners and their properties at risk. As soon as temperatures start to drop, residents need their gas or electric furnace to do its job.
